Dubai Championships: Roger Federer claims 7th title

Defending champion Roger Federer won his seventh Dubai Championships title and second of the year in defeating top-rankedNovak Djokovic 6-3, 7-5 on Saturday.This marked the seventh consecutive year and 11th time in 13 years that Federer or Djokovic won this title.

In the second set, Djokovic had a 40-0 lead in the 11th game, but watched Federer rebound to break his serve with an inside out forehandcrosscourt winner.



"The first set belonged to me, but the second set belonged to him more, really," Federer said. "It was a huge game at 5-all, 40-love for him.

"I crawled my way back into that game and ended up breaking him," Federer added. "That was big but the break points I saved were even bigger.”Nestor, Bopanna win doubles final Canadian Daniel Nestor and India's Rohan Bopanna earned their second ATP Tour doubles title.
The fourth seeds beat Pakistan's Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Serbian Nenad Zimonjic 6-4, 6-1.
Nestor and Bopanna claimed their first title together last month in Sydney. Their victory Saturday was worth US$149,170.Nestor and Bopanna both defeated former partners. Nestor and Zimonjic claimed 27 tournament titles while Bopanna and Qureshi captured five tournaments in 14 final appearances.
